Research Overview

Ensuring the mental health and other needs of families are addressed is crucial, especially after the patient leaves critical care. Families are often viewed as an extension of the patient, and just as the patient's needs shouldn't be neglected, neither should the family's. As patients transition from acute care back to the community, it's essential to recognize that families return with them. Addressing the unmet needs of families is vital for fostering a healthier community overall.

Incorporating social determinants of health can foster healthier communities by illuminating the interconnected factors influencing well-being, empowering targeted interventions, and promoting equity in healthcare outcomes.
